Today I’m sharing a reading from In the Lord I Take Refuge by Dane C. Ortlund. This book serves as a gentle companion to the start of my mornings. The state of the world appears madder by the day, particularly in an election year, so we have to find ways to keep ourselves centered on the truth. The One who is Truth.
The media lies. The world is evil. We are swimming in a violent storm of misinformation and fear mongering. Therefore, we turn our eyes away and reclaim our calm in the psalms. At least for me the Psalms tend to be a source of ever-present encouragement. This book offers 150 devotions through the Psalms.
Today, I read one to you. I hope it ministers to you as it did to me.
I also hope you aren’t distracted by the construction sounds in the background or my not put together physical appearance. After I watched this video all I could wonder was why it appears I only have 1/2 eyebrows??? I digress. Off the frivolous and onto the contemplative.
